August 2016

15th-21st.
This week I packed up my bags and went to Wales with my sister and grandparents. We went to a little sea-side town called Port Talbot and stayed at this hotel which in it's day would have been a very grand hotel, it had a lot of character. The day we arrived was very windy and the sea was very angry.

The next day we went to Porthcawl and met up with some more family. We walked along the beach and had hot chocolates while looking out to the bay. After that I got dropped off at one of my closest friends house who I haven't seen for 4 months. We adventured out to Cardiff to stay at her aunties house to look after her cat while she was on holiday. We spent the night watching movies, drinking hot chocolate, catching up and eating pizza.

22nd-28th.
Monday we went into town and met up with some old school friends and they introduced me to one of their friends who started my old school when I left. We went bowling which I won the first game! (I thought I was bad at bowling but apparently not!) and then we went for drinks to catch up and talk about old times. We settled for the night chatting and started to cook a pizza for dinner (I had a lot lot of pizza on this trip) but got a little carried away with talking....

We deiced to call up trusty dominoes and get a pizza from there instead.

Tuesday I got to meet one of my best friends who I've been friends with for about 4/5 years! We went into town, caught up over a Starbucks, went around the Disney and Lego store and then got a drink at a converted theatre! It was so lovely to get to spend some time with him. Here are some cute Lego characters we made of ourselves.

Though this happy memory was short lived while walking back to my friends house. I had my phone stolen, from right out of my hand. It makes me very sad to think about this happening, all my photos, videos, notes, contacts are all gone but what makes it most upsetting is that it happened. It really makes you think how desperate you have to be to make someone feel unsafe. (May I also add that I got escorted back to my friends aunt's house in the back of a police car! - feeling rather smug with myself for that). After ugly crying to my friends and chocking on chocolate and tea as it's really hard to eat while sobbing, my friends threw a laptop at me and made me change my passwords and contact family. Then they scooped me up and took me to the cinema. We watched Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates - it wasn't the best film, not worth the money but defiantly made me laugh and took my mind off things - they even drove to a cinema way out of town so I could feel safer. We got home, had a heart to heart and then went to bed. I honestly so lucky to know these girls, I have known one for 13 years and the other for about 10 years. I couldn't be more thankful for them being there for me and making me feel better. If they are reading this I am so lucky to have met you and thank you so much for being great!

Moving along now from the sobbing to the rest of my trip.
I spent most of it in Starbucks talking with old friends. I haven't seen a lot of my old school friends for around 4 years and It was very lovely to get to see and chat with them all again.

Not a lot has happened this month which I'm glad about, I don't think my brain could manage anymore excitement from my trip to Wales. I have done more work on my art project which you can see over at my arty blog that I will link below. Also I have found a singer for my 1920s themed party in November! She seems like a wonderful singer named Hollie (A vintage jazz singger) who I'll link below if anyone is interested. Thanks for reading and I'll see you next week for another lifestyle post! I also update my art blog on Wednesdays. xx
