Happy first of the month!
Sorry for not being online much thought out July, as you can see by the photos I've been a little bit busy. But this all came to a stop yesterday when I woke up with a chesty cough and swollen tonsils, I think I may have a chest infection or tonsillitis! I've deiced to take some time off, wrap myself in a blanket and tell you about my month of July.
July has brought a few things with it such as new friends and adventures. I've been on job interviews, filled in endless application forms, made some new friends who I've been gyming with, new opportunities and maybe something a little more around the corner. Things have changed a lot over July!
July has brought a few things with it such as new friends and adventures. I've been on job interviews, filled in endless application forms, made some new friends who I've been gyming with, new opportunities and maybe something a little more around the corner. Things have changed a lot over July!
I started the month at a yoga retreat ran by my very talented yoga instructor friend, she had invited me along to introduced an art well-being workshop that I have started up. It was a lot of fun but I found the yoga hard, it made me realise that I wanted to get back into yoga and become better and stronger at it. So I've started a new class in it, Monday was my forth class and I can see how much better I've already become. Also, I've taken my art workshops and introduced them into a local pub, which I plan on continuing once I've gotten better. More about my workshop here.
Along with yoga I've also been starting to get back into the gym! I go about 3 times a week and one my first weigh day of July I had lost two pounds! I'm incredibly pleased with myself for taking a step in becoming a healthier and happier me.
I went camping with one of my best friends at Truck Fest. It was a lot of fun and had a few...problems... like our tent breaking! In all it was a blast! We danced in the rain, hang out with bands, got back stage! There was amazing food across the festival that had veggie and vegan food! Amazing music, amazing food and amazing company, what more could you ask for? (Plus I got to see George Ezra *Swoons*).
There was a few birthdays over July.. well two, but never the less they are important birthdays. One was my dads girlfriend's birthday and the other was my brother's birthday.
I made a cake for her birthday, that you can see above...it's a little bit of a mess. I tried making it once before but it sank! Despite feeling frustrated I thought ''I'm not going to throw in the towel'' so I made another batch and it came out almost perfect - Hallelujah!
But as I started to build the cake layer by layer, it came clear to me that this is not going to be one of my favourite bakes. It was over 25 degrees in the kitchen for sure and the icing started to melt! Nothing I can do about this I thought so I carried on. I love how it's came out like a sloppy cake monster. In the end it tasted good and thats all that really matters when it comes to cake!
My brother's birthday was on the 29th so my sister and I visited him and my step family that weekend. He turned 12! It's crazy to me to think of him as a pre-teen, sometimes I still aspect to see him as the little cuddly five year old he once was. He's almost as tall as me! We had a lovely weekend eating junk food, watching him open his presents and playing board games together. I wish we could have more moments like this together, the three of us make an amazing team.
Talking about birthdays... on the 9th it will be my blogs second birthday! I know I haven't been a hardcore blogger but I'm proud of what I've created here, no matter how small it seems.
*Sigh* that was a lengthy one! Pat on the back if you read through all of that!
