July 2016 - Family
Hello there! This month has been about family.
We are going to have videos of people dancing from the 1920s on the projector and a DJ will go into that little cubby on the right. Things left for me to do is get the DJ booked, order in the decorations, plan out the food and the guest list - Look out for photos in November when it's all ready!
15th.
Me, my sister, my brother, my step-dad and his girlfriend took a trip to Centre Parcs - we had lots of fun but I will write about it in it's own post so make sure you come back later if you'd like to read about that.
22nd.
After the trip to Centre Parcs I stayed with my brother and step-dad for a week. I always enjoy spending time with them and love being out and about in the Cotswolds.
Me and my step-nan went out shopping in Nailsworth and went to one of my favourite shops to look around Daisy Jane, the lady who runs the shop is very lovely and it's always a pleasure to see her (we have become quite the regulars there). We also went to this amazing little vintage shop which I'm now kicking myself for not taking any photos or remembering the name of the shop (- I'll remember to take photos next time), it's filled with the most amazing jewellery, clothes, old cameras, shoes, bow ties - you name it they probably have it.
My step-dads partner goes to church every Sunday so I thought I would join them to see what it was like as they had told me it's very modern. They had a live rock band and the church was very well looked after. I'm not a christian and I'm more of a believe of evolution, I didn't agree with everything that was said but they also spoke about life in general and they showed support for people that they knew who were going though a hard time. The community and friendliness of it all was very uplifting.
29th.
For my brothers Birthday we deiced to see Finding Dory - it was very good, though some of the parts from the first film that they linked up was hit and miss, some parts linked up very well where others should have been kept in the first film, I can understand why they linked the parts up but I don't think the film needed it. Also I wish Pixar would stop making me cry in a room full of parents and children.
We also surprised him by taking him segwaying which was a lot of fun and defiantly something you should try.
July has been a good month, it's given me good memories with my family. It has also been the the month of new projects, I have deiced to redecorate my room and I have been giving a new project for uni. I have written about my new project over on my other arty blog and will link it below if you would like to read about it. If you have gotten to the end of this post then thank you so much for reading and I'm impressed! (I'll try to write shorter posts next time).

1st.
Just before July started I found out that my great grandmother had passed away, her funeral was on the 1st July. I wasn't very close with her but I do have fond memories of her showing us holiday photographs, she would often take a trip to Disney and fill up photo-albums, she seemed very proud of them. I also have hard memories of her. She suffered from arthritis and she couldn't do much, I remember looking at her hands and how painful they looked from the operations she had to have. I'm glad she doesn't have to go through that anymore.
2nd.
The day after the funeral was my nans and cousins joint Birthday garden party. We had the whole family together. My aunt put out a great spread and my granddad managed the BBQ. The rain was on and off all day but it started tipping it down in the evening and all of us, around 50 people ran into the house, crammed into the kitchen like huddling penguins.
3rd.
I went to visit my aunt and uncle who couldn't attend the party the day after and we spent the day at a river festival. We drank and eat (my aunt made these awesome wraps with yogurt and mint) and we had a little giggle sitting at the side of the river about swans having long necks - (I found them weird for some reason). It was a warm day and after being worn out from walking and the hot sun we sat at their house and watched Mean Girls.
5th.
My dads partners Birthday was also early July and we had a relaxing day of Pizza Hut buffet and watching movies. We went to see Independence Day - Resurgence and I have a few things to say about this movie as it was disappointing, if you want to see a film about spaceships and aliens and you don't much care about storytelling or character development then this is the film for you, also I found myself thrown out of the movie a lot of the time and I just felt bored. That said some of the sense were attention grabbing as at the start of the film they get right into the action.
9th.
I'll be turning 21 in November and for my Birthday I have deiced to have a 1920s themed party. Me, my aunt (the one who put out the good spread), my nan and grandad went into town to look for venues. We found 3, one was kind of like a sports club kind of place and is under a church, the second one was a pub.. well more like a empty barn that was in the garden of the pub, the last one was at a very nice hotel but very out of our budget. We deiced on the secret underground bar under the church and I think it will be perfect for our theme, we can make it the perfect speak easy. Heres a photo of what it looks like.
